Re: 14.0.0 Build failed during execution the openam-ui-ria task

Sarris Overbosch
I've never build the openam-ui-ra but based upon the errors I would look at the following:

- missing a build dependency, in this case the "No binary for PhantomJS browser on your platform" suggests you have to install  PhantomJS
- or if you have then you probably have to set the PHANTOMJS_BIN correctly

Re: 14.0.0 Build failed during execution the openam-ui-ria task

Yakov Revyakin
Firstly on Ubuntu I installed PhantomJS and set PHANTOMJS_BIN to PhantomJS binary. It's .usr/lib/phantomjs/phantomjs
Secondly i set PHANTOMJS_BIN to /home/openam/openam-ui/openam-ui-ria/nodemodules/MAVEN/blablabla/phantomjs

both did give me nothing positive

How to resove this in smart way? So, how to understand what happens? Any additional logs, approaches?

Hi Yakov

Are you running mvn clean install? This should mange the NPM locally. The errors seems to indicate some version mismatch type things between Node and the NPM..

Re: 14.0.0 Build failed during execution the openam-ui-ria task

Yakov Revyakin
Hi Simon,
Of course, I was runnig mvn in this way many times.
How did you decide that there is something like version mismatch? Can someone explain how to setup environment for openam-ui-ria on Ubuntu-server correctly?
I have some hypothesyses and one of them is that there is a dependency on X-server functionality. If it's true I don't understand why things must go in this way.
Also I build 13.0.0 release without any problems in my current environment.

This task requires installing the next packages: libfontconfig, make, g++, python.

Npm, nodes, fsevents, phantomjs are part of source so I suppose they don't require to be installed into Linux platform and must work out of the box.
Just in case I played with installing phantomjs and setting PHANTOMJS_BIN and have no any positive results.

Thanks,
Yakiv

If you think there is some dependency on X, have you tried to set
'-Djava.awt.headless=true' as maven option?

Re: 14.0.0 Build failed during execution the openam-ui-ria task

Yakov Revyakin
Hi Bernhard,
I think phantomjs binary can be dependent on X. So it has no sense to check the building process with this option

Thanks,
Yakov

If it really has a dependency on X I wonder why it claims ....

"One major use case of PhantomJS is headless testing of web applications."

?

In my opinion headless means .... no graphics, like Enterprise SPARC
servers.

In reply to this post by Yakov Revyakin

Hi Yakov,

I tried this build as well on a ubuntu 16.04.1 server Virtual Box system. It worked in the end. My steps were straightforward:

- install ubuntu 16.04.1 server

- install oracle java 7

    # sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
    # sudo apt-get update
   #  sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer

- install maven

    # apt-get install maven

- download src from forgerock

    # git clone https://stash.forgerock.org/scm/openam/openam.git

- change to tag 13.0.0

    # git checkout tags/13.0.0

- run mvn clean install

I got some error, not the ones you had though and they were related to a missing library which i was able to install using:

 # apt-get install libfontconfig1-dev

Maybe this helps

Kind regards,

Vincent

Re: 14.0.0 Build failed during execution the openam-ui-ria task

Hi Vincent,

To build 13.0.0 is not a problems. I do this.
I can't build the latest 14.0.0.
Is it possible to build 13.5.0 to check this place?

Thanks,
Yakov
